Traditionally Styled Worship

The worship services at the Woodway First United Methodist Church are traditionally styled yet dynamic and exciting in nature. After welcome and announcements, the congregation joins the worship leader in the Call to Worship and Prayer. Hymns are sung and Scriptures are read. Each Sunday, the children gather at the front of the church for a children’s sermon after which those age 2 – 2nd grade are invited to exit to Kids Church in the Faith Factory. The sermon is always scripturally based and typically follows the New Revised Common Lectionary.  The sermon is followed by the offering, prayers and more hymns.

The Purpose of Worship

The purpose of worship at the Woodway First United Methodist Church is to glorify God.  It is an opportunity to focus our hearts and minds on the God of all creation and offer our praise and thanksgiving, and it is a time to seek true Sabbath rest as we relax in a beautiful, worshipful setting to let our spirits by lifted by the power of the Holy Spirit.  You are invited to join us as we seek to give ourselves wholly to God through our worship.
